LeFlore GEAR UP Students Explore Texas Tech University

LeFlore ninth and 10th grade Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP students recently participated in a virtual tour of TT (Texas Tech University) in Lubbock, Texas. Nejahla Hopkins, a current public relations student, connected with the students via Zoom, a virtual meeting platform, where she took the students on a virtual walking tour of the campus.   The tour began at West Hall, home to the Visitors Center, Office of Admissions, and Student Financial Center. Wister GEAR UP Students Take a Virtual Tour of Southeastern Oklahoma State University

Wister freshman and sophomore GEAR UP students recently participated in a virtual college tour of Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SOSU), the home of the Savage Storm. The students met with Recruiter Steven Harris via Zoom. Harris started the tour by asking the students about their future career interests. After viewing a short video, Harris discussed the top majors SOSU offers, including Safety and Aviation. Harris also reviewed the SOSU programs that the students showed interest in earlier on the tour. He encouraged students to find a college that was a good fit for them and to get involved on campus.

Cameron GEAR UP Students Explore Carl Albert State College

Fifteen Cameron ninth and 10th-grade GEAR UP students recently participated in a virtual college day with CASC (Carl Albert State College) Recruiter Hunter Sizemore. CASC is a public two-year community college serving over 3,000 students. CASC has over 30-degree programs and nine certification programs available for students. The virtual tour started in Hemphill Hall, where Sizemore showed students where admissions, enrollment, student affairs, and financial aid office are in the building. Moyers GEAR UP Students Tour Carl Albert State College

Moyers ninth and tenth grade GEAR UP students recently toured CASC (Carl Albert State College) in Poteau, Oklahoma. Students were greeted by CASC Recruiter Hunter Sisemore, Viking Ambassadors Hayleigh Drake, and Logan Nipper. Students began their tour in Hemphill Hall, where the students visited the Financial Aid office where Drake talked to the students about the Scholars program and how it can help pay for their education at CASC. She also explained the importance of applying for scholarships and meeting financial aid deadlines when in college. Clayton ninth and tenth grade Eastern Oklahoma State GEAR UP students recently participated in a virtual tour of Texas A&M University hosted by FOCUS Training, an EOSC GEAR UP Partner.
