Area Middle and High School Math and Science Teachers Receive Texas Instruments Training in Poteau

Twenty-nine area middle and high school math and science teachers recently participated in a two-day beginner level Texas Instruments workshop while 14 teachers participated in a one-day intermediate and advanced level training at Kiamichi Technology Center in Poteau. Forty-five area middle and high school math and science teachers recently participated in a three-day TI (Texas Instruments) training at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton. The workshop was designed to help teachers integrate the TI-Nspire Navigator Systems effectively into classroom instruction, which helps students explore, understand and connect the principles of science, math, coding engineering design, and electronics. Puterbaugh Middle School teachers watch a video during the recent Love and Logic professional development workshop presented by GEAR UP Education Coordinator Brianna Brassfield. Three Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP team members recently attended the 2019 Rural College Access and Success Summit at The Lexington Convention Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Over 500 educators from across the United States attended the Summit. Eight members of the Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP team recently attended The Business Grammar and Proofreading Seminar in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
