Porum seventh graders tour Rogers State University and Will Rogers Memorial Museum

Thirty-eight Porum GEAR UP students recently visited RSU (Rogers State University) and the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore. Students began the morning at Rogers State University. Campus Visits & Events Coordinator Addison Murray welcomed students to RSU. University Recruiters Jake Swincegood and Rachel Smith gave students a quick overview of RSU admissions, financial aid availability, student organizations and program options. Students were given souvenir bags with RSU info and goodies. After the presentation, students divided into two groups to tour campus. Forty-one Porum GEAR UP students recently visited RSU (Rogers State University) and the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore. Students began the morning at Rogers State University inside Markum Hall where the Admission office is located. Campus Visits & Events Coordinator Addison Murray welcomed students to RSU. She began her welcome with a short presentation titled “College Prep,” an overview of things to know that can help students plan and prepare for after high school. Porum GEAR UP eighth graders tour Oral Roberts University

Thirty-five eighth grade Porum GEAR UP students recently traveled to Tulsa to visit Oral Roberts University (ORU). Students began the morning by participating in a guided tour at ORU led by Student Ambassadors Jordan Rollinson (a sophomore from Fort Worth, TX majoring in Government) and Joseph Thomas (a freshman from Montgomery, AL majoring in Business Administration). Students saw numerous buildings and learned about various programs on campus. Students began the tour at ORU’s Global Learning Center where student ambassadors met students inside on this unusually chilly day to welcome them to campus. They ventured across campus to the Graduate Center.

Forty Porum GEAR UP sixth grade students recently traveled to Tulsa to tour Tulsa Community College (TCC) and Jenks to visit the Oklahoma Aquarium. Students began the morning by participating in a guided tour at TCC led by Student Recruiters William Baldwin and Ali Castillo. Porum students saw numerous buildings and learned about various programs on the updated Southeast TCC campus. Students began the tour in Building 8, the Math and Science Building. Thirty-eight Porum GEAR UP students recently traveled to Tulsa to tour Tulsa Community College (TCC) and then to Jenks to visit the Oklahoma Aquarium. Students began the morning by participating in a guided tour at TCC led by Admission Coordinator Kelsey Pitts and Admission and Prospective Student Services Recruiter Ali Castillo.
