Lane GEAR UP students tour Southeastern Oklahoma State University

Seventeen GEAR UP students from Lane recently traveled to Durant to tour SOSU (Southeastern Oklahoma State University). The eighth grade students were met by Transfer Student Recruiter Charles Jackson who works in the University’s Admissions Office. After a brief introduction, Jackson led the students on a tour of the campus. The day began with a tour of SOSU’s athletic facilities including the newly-remodeled baseball venue which has been renamed Mike Metheny Field in honor of SE Hall of Famer, coach, and NCAA Division II All-Time wins leader, Mike Metheny. Krebs seventh grade GEAR UP students tour Southeastern Oklahoma State University

Thirty-two Krebs Public School seventh grade GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) students recently traveled to Durant to tour SOSU (Southeastern Oklahoma State University). High School Recruiter Kourtney Kaufman and Transfer Recruiter Charles Jackson began the tour at Glen D. Johnson Student Union where students were divided into two groups. Kaufman and Jackson educated students about services offered at the Native American Institute located in the Center for Student Success. Students receive assistance with choosing classes. Frink-Chambers eighth grade GEAR UP students tour Southeastern Oklahoma State University

Thirty-two Frink-Chambers eighth grade GEAR UP students recently toured Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SOSU) in Durant. Students began the day at the Glen D. Johnson Student Union where they were greeted by Admissions Counselor and High School Recruiter Kourtney Kaufman and Transfer Student Recruiter Charles Jackson. Students separated into two groups to tour the student union and other buildings on campus with Kaufman and Jackson each leading a group. Located in the student union, students visited the Student Health Services and Counseling Center, cafeteria, and wellness center. The Glen D. Johnson Student Union serves as the hub of student activities.

Twenty-seven Frink-Chambers seventh grade GEAR UP students recently toured Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SOSU) in Durant. Students began the day at the Glen D. Johnson Student Union where they were greeted by Director of Admissions and Recruitment Jeremy Rowland, Admissions Counselor and High School Recruiter Sarah Hughes, and Transfer Student Recruiter Charles Jackson. Rattan GEAR UP students recently toured Southeastern Oklahoma State University, “The Campus of a Thousand Magnolias.” Students were welcomed by University Admissions Counselor/Recruiter Sheridan Burns and Admissions Counselor and Transfer Recruiter Charles Jackson joined by SOSU seniors Cara Worsham and Callie Bryant. Students began their tour at the Glen D. Johnson Student Union. Burns and Jackson led the Clayton students to the Paul Laird Field, the football stadium that was renovated with funding by the city of Durant sales tax.
