Harmony eighth grade GEAR UP students tour Southeastern Oklahoma State University

Seventeen eighth grade Harmony GEAR UP students recently toured SOSU (Southeastern Oklahoma State University) in Durant. The students were met in the Glen D. Johnson Student Union by Admissions Counselor and Recruiter Steven Harris. After a brief overview of college life, organizations, and student services, Harris led the students on a walking tour of the campus. Students visited an apartment-style residence hall, and learned about dormitory living and other housing options. Students also visited several instructional facilities, including the Fine Arts building, which houses the Communications Department that is home to the campus radio station, newspaper and magazine. McAlester ninth grade GEAR UP students visit Southeastern Oklahoma State University Part 2

Sixty-six McAlester ninth grade GEAR UP students recently toured SOSU (Southeastern Oklahoma State University) in Durant. Students began the day in the Glen D. Johnson Student Union to meet On-campus Recruiter and Admissions Counselor Sarah Hughes. Hughes began a walking tour of campus where students saw Morrison Hall, the oldest building on campus and home to the education department. Hughes then proceeded to show the students other buildings on campus, such as the Administration Building and the Henry G. Bennett Memorial Library. McAlester ninth grade GEAR UP students explore Southeastern Oklahoma State University Part 1

Seventy McAlester ninth grade GEAR UP students recently explored SOSU (Southeastern Oklahoma State University) in Durant. Students were welcomed in the Glen D. Johnson Student Union by campus recruiters. Students were divided into three separate groups and given a tour of campus. The tours began in the Bloomer Sullivan gymnasium where NBA player Dennis Rodman’s jersey hangs. Rodman is a former SOSU athlete. Students then toured Shearer Hall & Suites, an apartment-style housing option. Throughout the tour, students learned about different buildings as well as programs SOSU offers. Lane GEAR UP students tour Southeastern Oklahoma State University

Seventeen GEAR UP students from Lane recently traveled to Durant to tour SOSU (Southeastern Oklahoma State University). The eighth grade students were met by Transfer Student Recruiter Charles Jackson who works in the University’s Admissions Office. After a brief introduction, Jackson led the students on a tour of the campus. Thirty-two Krebs Public School seventh grade GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) students recently traveled to Durant to tour SOSU (Southeastern Oklahoma State University). High School Recruiter Kourtney Kaufman and Transfer Recruiter Charles Jackson began the tour at Glen D. Johnson Student Union where students were divided into two groups. Thirty-two Frink-Chambers eighth grade GEAR UP students recently toured Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SOSU) in Durant. Students began the day at the Glen D. Johnson Student Union where they were greeted by Admissions Counselor and High School Recruiter Kourtney Kaufman and Transfer Student Recruiter Charles Jackson. Students separated into two groups to tour the student union and other buildings on campus with Kaufman and Jackson each leading a group. Located in the student union, students visited the Student Health Services and Counseling Center, cafeteria, and wellness center. The Glen D. Johnson Student Union serves as the hub of student activities.

Twenty-seven Frink-Chambers seventh grade GEAR UP students recently toured Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SOSU) in Durant. Students began the day at the Glen D.
