Bokoshe GEAR UP students visited the Tulsa Zoo

Nineteen Bokoshe, junior and senior GEAR UP students, recently visited the Tulsa Zoo. The students took a self-guided tour of the 84 acres and 13 exhibits. Some exhibits the students toured included the Lost Kingdom and African Plains, the Rainforest, and the Chimpanzee Connection. Indianola GEAR UP students tour the Oklahoma Aquarium

Twenty-two GEAR UP juniors and seniors from Indianola High School recently traveled to Jenks, OK, to tour the Oklahoma Aquarium. When the students arrived at the center, students were greeted by the Oklahoma Aquarium tour guide. Keota GEAR UP students visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum

Twelve Keota junior and senior GEAR UP students recently visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum in Oklahoma City. Twenty-two GEAR UP seniors from McAlester High School recently traveled to Durant, OK, to tour the Choctaw Cultural Center. Upon arrival, students were greated by the Choctaw Cultural Center staff. Talihina GAR UP Students visit Hochatown Animal Rescue and Petting Zoo

Recently 11th and 12th grade Talihina GEAR UP students toured the Hochatown Animal Rescue and Petting Zoo. During their visit, students were led through buildings that included interaction with the animals and the animal habitats. Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP hosted Texas Instruments training for local partner schools held at Eastern Oklahoma State College (EOSC). EOSC’s GEAR UP grant brings in Texas Instrument coaches for a two-day training tailored to fit the needs of teachers within the grant’s 32 schools.
