Twenty-two GEAR UP seniors from McAlester High School recently traveled to Durant, OK, to tour the Choctaw Cultural Center. Upon arrival, students were greated by the Choctaw Cultural Center staff. Talihina GAR UP Students visit Hochatown Animal Rescue and Petting Zoo

Recently 11th and 12th grade Talihina GEAR UP students toured the Hochatown Animal Rescue and Petting Zoo. During their visit, students were led through buildings that included interaction with the animals and the animal habitats. Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP hosted Texas Instruments training for local partner schools held at Eastern Oklahoma State College (EOSC). EOSC’s GEAR UP grant brings in Texas Instrument coaches for a two-day training tailored to fit the needs of teachers within the grant’s 32 schools. Recently Rattan 11th grade students visited the Aviation Sciences Institute at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Eighteen Rattan GEAR UP students recently toured Murray State College. The tour began at the Welcome Center with a greeting from Paula Henley, Executive Director of Outreach and Advisement.
