Clayton GEAR UP Students tour East Central University

Thirty Clayton junior and senior GEAR UP students recently toured East Central University in Ada, OK. Students began the tour with a welcome informational session in the Bill S. Cole University Center. Recruiters Shundin Bohan and Libby Tomlin began the presentation with plenty of opportunities for students to ask questions and covered topics such as financial aid, admission requirements, majors offered at ECU, and student life.

Following the welcome session, students were led across campus for a tour that included the Hallie Brown Fine Arts Building, Lanoy Education Building, ECU Bookstore, the Time Capsule, Crabtree Honor Plaza, Tiger Fountain, and Linscheid Library. After the tour, students enjoyed lunch in Taft Cafeteria.

The field trip was sponsored by Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP. Eastern received a $17 million federal GEAR UP grant in 2017 and will serve more than 3,000 students in 39 area schools for seven years.
