Bokoshe GEAR UP students visited the Tulsa Zoo

Nineteen Bokoshe, junior and senior GEAR UP students, recently visited the Tulsa Zoo. The students took a self-guided tour of the 84 acres and 13 exhibits. Some exhibits the students toured included the Lost Kingdom and African Plains, the Rainforest, and the Chimpanzee Connection. Bokoshe GEAR UP students tour East Central University

Twenty-two Bokoshe junior and senior GEAR UP students recently toured East Central University (ECU) in Ada, OK. The tour began with the Director of Student Recruitment, Ashlee Heck, greeting students and showing a short video of all things ECU. Go Tigers! Bokoshe GEAR UP students tour the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium

Bokoshe ninth and tenth-grade Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP students recently toured the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium in Tulsa, Ok. During the guided tour, GEAR UP students learned about the history of the MD-80 aircraft, Grumman-14A Tomcat, and the jet engines. 550 area high school sophomore GEAR UP students from 30 schools learned how to better prepare for the ACT as they attended a virtual, three-hour workshop presented by Chad Cargill, Founder and President of Cargill Consulting, Inc. Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP Partner Schools Receive Technology During COVID-19 Pandemic

Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP recently purchased a variety of technology items for area GEAR UP schools to assist with the schools’ needs for virtual learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each GEAR UP school indicated its immediate need to help conduct virtual education for students. GEAR UP spent over $194,650 on laptops, headsets and Chromebooks. Bokoshe GEAR UP students visited the Symphony by the Sea at the Oklahoma Aquarium

Eighteen Bokoshe eighth and ninth grade GEAR UP students recently attended Symphony by the Sea at the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks, Oklahoma. Oklahoma Aquarium partnered with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra to create an experience combining both arts and science. The students were guided by Oklahoma Aquarium Education Specialist, Alyssa Rodriguez, through three galleries in the aquarium to learn about a particular animal or habitat from the aquarium combined with a selected musical ensemble. Bokoshe eighth and ninth grade students tour Northeastern State University

Sixteen Bokoshe eighth and ninth grade GEAR UP students recently toured NSU (Northeastern State University) in Tahlequah. Students began the day at the University Center where they were greeted by NSU Campus Visit Program Graduate Assistant Bailey Rush and NSU Student Ambassadors Montana Hale and Benjamin Smith. Twenty-five Bokoshe seventh- and eighth-grade GEAR UP students recently visited Science Museum Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. The two-story museum consists of a wide array of hands-on activities that allow students to have fun in an engaging way. Twenty–four Bokoshe seventh and eighth grade GEAR UP students recently toured Carl Albert State College in Poteau and the University of Arkansas campus in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Bokoshe GEAR UP students tour Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve

Seventeen Bokoshe 6th and 7th grade students were welcomed to Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve in Bartlesville with a grand tour ride through Haunted Grove Trail experiencing the wildlife of American Bison (buffalo), elk (wapiti), North European fallow deer, llamas, ostriches, water buffalo, ducks, and a variety of birds.
