Eastern delegation attends 2018 NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference in Washington, DC

Thirty-two students, chaperones, superintendents and GEAR UP team members recently attended the 2018 NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference “Calling All Superheroes” in Washington, DC. Panola GEAR UP students recently visited the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks. Students toured the aquarium and was given a behind–the–scenes tour of the kitchen where they prepare meals for all the exhibits and a behind–the–scenes tour of the shark tank. Twenty-four Cameron 6th and 7th grade GEAR UP students recently traveled to Jenks to visit the Oklahoma Aquarium. Students were given a personal tour of the Aquarium by Education Specialists Michelle Zarantonello including some “behind the scenes” looks. Ninety-three GEAR UP students from Atoka Public Schools recently toured the Oklahoma City Zoo located in Oklahoma City’s Adventure District. Students enjoyed exploring the zoo which is home to more than 1,900 animals. Seventeen Bokoshe 6th and 7th grade students were welcomed to Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve in Bartlesville with a grand tour ride through Haunted Grove Trail experiencing the wildlife of American Bison (buffalo), elk (wapiti), North European fallow deer, llamas, ostriches, water buffalo, ducks, and a variety of birds.
