Eastern’s GEAR UP team attends the 2020 NCCEP/GEAR UP Capacity Building Workshop

Orlando, Florida was the site of the 2020 NCCEP/GEAR UP Capacity Building Workshop. Five members of the Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP team joined more than 1,300 GEAR UP professionals from across the nation at the workshop designed to help new and experienced GEAR UP professionals effectively meet their project goals and objectives through professional development and strategic planning activities. Twenty-nine Porum eighth grade Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP students recently toured OSUIT (Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology) in Okmulgee. Students began the day with a fun-filled meeting with members of the on-campus student recruitment team known as Friends of Pete. Over 30 area superintendents, principals, counselors, teachers, and GEAR UP team members recently attended an ICAP (Individual Career Academic Plan) workshop at the McAlester campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College. The workshop was sponsored by Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP.
