Howe GEAR UP Students Tour Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum

Howe Senior GEAR UP students recently took an educational trip to the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum in Dallas, TX. Group Tour Manager Adilene Hernandez greeted the students upon arrival at the Museum and informed them that during the tour, they would be learning about World War II and the Holocaust.  Museum Docent Educator Joe Roffman guided students through the Museum and discussed meaningful exhibits, photographs, and artifacts depicting the Holocaust and Jewish life

Howe GEAR UP Students Tour the Oklahoma Aquarium

Junior GEAR UP students recently visited the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks, OK. GEAR UP students started the day with Education Specialist Hallie Moss. Moss gave the students an overview of how important it is to care for the environment because it matters to everything in the ocean. Howe GEAR UP Students Tour Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology

Howe junior and sophomore GEAR UP students recently toured OSUIT (Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology) in Okmulgee. OSUIT is a recognized leader in applied technology education. Students were greeted at the Grady Clark Center by Abigail Rush, Student Success Facilitator upon arrival. Sixty-seven Howe freshman and sophomore GEAR UP students recently participated in Mid-America Science Museum’s Outreach Workshop. The Outreach Team traveled from Hot Springs, Ark. to Howe Public Schools to host the workshop. The museum offers a range of dynamic shows and workshops for schools and community venues. Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP Partner Schools Receive Technology During COVID-19 Pandemic

Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP recently purchased a variety of technology items for area GEAR UP schools to assist with the schools’ needs for virtual learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each GEAR UP school indicated its immediate need to help conduct virtual education for students. GEAR UP spent over $194,650 on laptops, headsets and Chromebooks.
