Sixteen GEAR UP students recently toured Murray State College. The tour began at the Welcome Center with a greeting from Murray State tour guides. Students were taken on a campus tour by Paxton Hutchings and Brooklyn Hayes, Aggie Ambassadors. They visited the Aggie Suites to see where students on campus live. The next stops were the newly constructed Lynn Colbert Science and Agriculture building, Administration building, Health Science Center, and Library buildings. As they walked across campus, students and tour guides discussed majors offered, financial aid, and student support available on campus. The tour ended with a question-and-answer session about campus life.
The field trip was sponsored by Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP. Eastern received a $17 million federal GEAR UP grant in 2017 and will serve over 3,000 students in 39 area schools for seven years.
