GEAR UP Students Travel to Orlando, Florida

Seven students travel to Orlando, Florida, for an exciting adventure provided by EOSC (Eastern Oklahoma State College) GEAR UP. This trip allowed students to tour various colleges, universities, and local businesses to learn about career opportunities.

Students stopped at the University of Central Florida-Rosen College of Hospitality Management, located in Orlando, Florida. This college offers students an unrivaled opportunity to learn and work in the heart of hospitality. The students toured and visited SeaWorld, where they got to experience the many different career opportunities that SeaWorld offers. Students learned what it takes to work at SeaWorld and the educational experience needed.

Next, the students kayaked while learning about West Indian manatees, bottlenose dolphins, and birds through Florida’s exotic mangrove tunnels. Students also visited the Kennedy Space Center, where they met Astronaut Heidi Piper and learned about her experience traveling to outer space.
