Eighteen Rattan GEAR UP students recently toured Murray State College. The tour began at the Welcome Center with a greeting from Paula Henley, Executive Director of Outreach and Advisement. The students were given a walking tour led by Aggie Ambassadors Gavin Crouch, Kaylee Foster, and Nathan Wolfe. The tour included stops at the newly constructed Lynn Colbert Science and Agriculture Building, Administration Building, Health Science Center, Clyde Hall Classroom building, and Zimmerman Library Science buildings. As they walked across campus, students and tour guides discussed majors offered at Murray State College, financial aid, and student support available on campus. The tour ended with a question-and-answer session about campus life.
The field trip was sponsored by Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP. Eastern received a $17 million federal GEAR UP grant in 2017 and will serve over 3,000 students in 39 area schools for seven years.
