Moyers GEAR UP students recently toured PJC (Paris Junior College) in Paris, Texas. Students were greeted at the Williams Administration Building by Academic Advisors, Misty McMikel and Randy Hider. The tour began with an informational session about the application process to PJC followed by the importance and process of financial aid. Students toured several departments across campus, including the Workforce Training Center, which is home to several healthcare-related programs offered, such as nursing, radiology, and EMT. Following the Workforce Training Center, students visited the Applied Science Center, which includes the HVAC, CAD, and welding departments.
The field trip was sponsored by Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP. Eastern received a $17 million federal GEAR UP grant in 2017, and will serve more than 3,000 students in 39 area schools for seven years.
