Twenty–three seniors at Red Oak High School recently completed training and received CPR course completion certificates. Eastern Oklahoma State College Professional Development Coordinator John Spiegel conducted the workshop with the assistance of PD Administrative Assistant Kathy Ramsey and Education Coordinator Tara Martin.
“The students were great!” said Spiegel. “They were really into it and seemed excited they received the training.”
The workshop was provided by Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP. Participating schools may take advantage of free professional development opportunities and other services funded by the grant. Eastern is in its final year of the 2011 grant and is currently serving seniors and postsecondary students in 27 partner schools. Eastern received a $17 million GEAR UP grant in 2017 and is working with 39 partner schools to enhance student, parent and teacher engagement.
