Eastern’s GEAR UP Project Director Linda Morgan presented workshops at the 2019 NCCEP/GEAR UP Capacity Building Workshop

Eastern’s GEAR UP Project Director Linda Morgan co–presented two workshops at the 2019 NCCEP/GEAR UP Capacity Building Workshop (CBW) recently held in San Antonio, Texas. Morgan joined Marcie Samples Associate Director for College Access & Support, Washington Student Achievement Council and Lois Bramwell, Director of GEAR UP 4 LA. Each presenter brought a specific area of expertise for the group: Samples works with a state GEAR UP grant; Bramwell directs an urban partnership grant; and Morgan directs a rural partnership grant. Eastern’s GEAR UP team attends 2019 NCCEP/GEAR UP Capacity Building Workshop

San Antonio was the site of the 2019 NCCEP/GEAR UP Capacity Building Workshop. Eastern’s GEAR UP delegation joined over 1,300 GEAR UP professionals from across the nation at the workshop designed to help new and experienced GEAR UP professionals effectively meet their project goals and objectives through professional development and strategic planning activities. Eastern delegation attends 2018 NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference in Washington, DC

Thirty-two students, chaperones, superintendents and GEAR UP team members recently attended the 2018 NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference “Calling All Superheroes” in Washington, DC. The group spent three days touring Villanova University New York University, and Columbia University, as well as historical sites in Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, and Washington, DC.
