Seventy–Three area teachers receive FREE Mobi View Technology from Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP
Math and science teachers from GEAR UP partner schools attended a one–day workshop and received a Mobi View and training compliments of Eastern Oklahoma State College’s GEAR UP for Success grant program. The workshops was presented by TI Instructor Todd Morstein.
“It was great!” said GEAR UP Project Director, Linda Morgan. “I love being able to give our teachers technology they can use immediately in their classrooms to make their lives easier and enhance learning.”
The Mobi View is an interactive whiteboard featuring an organized touch screen that provides presenters the ability to deliver and control content from anywhere in the room. A teacher can instantly launch instruction, annotate material and analyze real–time assessment data without being tethered to a computer.
“The training was fantastic,” said Tammy McBride, McAlester High School. “I love my Mobi!”
Recipients of the device were teachers in GEAR UP partner schools who are also participating in the Texas Instruments’ MathForward or Science BOOST program. The Mobi View will be used to enrich teaching with the TI Navigator system and handhelds already in place and use in the classroom of each of the teachers receiving the Mobi Views.
Eastern is in its fifth year of the $12.6 million federal GEAR UP grant. GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a federal initiative to increase the number of low-income students who enter and successfully transition into postsecondary education.
