Panama GEAR UP students tour Connors State College

Panama tenth grade Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP students recently toured CSC (Connors State College) in Warner, Ok. The tours began with Recruiter Brooklyn Herriman and Director of Recruitment Jessica Langston talking to the students about applying to CSC, degree programs offered on campus, and campus activities. Next, the students took a walking tour of the campus, learning about the different departments, classrooms, and offices on campus. Lastly, the students ate lunch in the campus cafeteria, offering another hands-on experience of a college student. During lunch, students shared their favorite parts of the tour and campus. One of the student’s favorite places on campus was the greenhouses used by the agricultural department. The field trip was sponsored by Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP. Eastern received a $17 million federal GEAR UP grant in 2017 and will serve over 3,000 students in 39 area schools for seven years.
