Antlers Ninth Grade EOSC GEAR UP Students Visit Rose State College

Antlers ninth grade Eastern Oklahoma State GEAR UP students recently toured Rose State College in Midwest City, Okla. Donnie Anderson, RSC Future Student Relations/Engagement Coordinator, began the visit in the newly constructed W.P. Bill Atkinson Student Center by providing students with an overview of Rose State College, including majors offered and a look into student life on campus. Following the talk, students took a walking tour of campus where they met several current RSC students. Students visited several RSC buildings, including the Larry W. Nutter Administration Building, E.T. Dunlap Learning Resources Center, and the Village Student Housing. After the tour, students returned to the Student Center where they asked Anderson questions about Rose State College. Anderson gave students face masks embellished with the Rose State College logo as souvenirs.

The field trip was sponsored by Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP. Eastern received a $17 million federal GEAR UP grant in 2017, and will serve more than 3,000 students in 39 area schools for seven years.
